What Does 'KakiLang' Do?

Our solution to encourage active lifestyles among the elderly, is to build a community around them and provide a space for them to share about their lives with others.

We want to do so by connecting students from schools with the elderly living within their neighbourhood, specifically those living alone first and having several sessions to interact with them and get to know them better, in a means to earn their trust as well.

Once the students have formed a friendly bond with their paired senior, they will form groups with other student and senior pairs and this will be their new group of friends!

With this community, they will be brought for weekly activity sessions together at the community centre (CC), participating in Tai-chi or Zumba classes. Other activities include garden trails at iconic sites like Gardens By The Bay and even Movie screenings at their local CCs.

The number of isolated seniors have been increasing as of late and we wish to help these seniors find the joy in the company of others through our programme.

As a bonus, we wish to gift NTUC Vouchers to each senior for every 3 activities they go for with their ‘KakiLang’ Groups!
